Bison in Mexico.

The transboundary Janos-Hidalgo bison herd is one of five free-ranging herds of bison left in North America. Border wall construction in 2007 severed much of the herd’s passage between food and water resources in the arid borderlands. In hopes of augmenting bison populations in the region, the Mexican government partnered with The Nature Conservancy to reintroduce additional bison to the region.
